PhotoStockAfrica was launched in 2009.

Our goal is to provide the best quality and the greatest variety of African stock photos at a reasonable price. We accept images from skilled photographers, professional and amateur alike, adhering to strict quality control before images are accepted into our library.

We look for images that are diverse and ranging in subject matter and hope to include locations from the southern most tip of Africa; Cape Agulhas, to the northern most point, Ras ben Sakka; Atlantic to Indian oceans and as many places in between as possible. We aim to present images of this wild, adventurous, dangerous, and always beautiful continent.

Africa is second to Asia in size and population it has one of the largest and most diverse selections of wildlife, insect life, flora, and fauna, our minerals are sought after by the world at large. Africa boasts perhaps the world's largest combination of density and "range of freedom" of wild animal populations. Our topography ranges from tropical to sub arctic at its highest peaks, the resultant vegetation is the richest spanning both hemispheres from dry northern desert to central tropical forests, and the savannah plains in between. Our continent is deemed by scientists to be the source of human-kind, the beginnings of homanid man; great apes, are found to the south, the beginnings of industrial man in the central regions. To the north lie the signs of spiritual man in the temples and structures which are listed as one of the wonders of the world. Our cities and people are amongst the most modern in the world and the most impoverished. Africa is a unique and mysterious continent indeed. From a cultural and an economic point of view, modern Africans have, from the 90’s been reasserting their identity on a global level. We aim to depict the people, business and industry of this emerging continent on the move.

Images are made available at a minimum size of 4 megabytes, the minimum pixel width to any image boundary (width or height) must be 1600 pixels.

Image price is set by the copywrite owner and we take 20% of the sale price. This image size will satisfy all applications up to A3 in a jpeg format.
