Biography:
At the age of 7, Santjie was given her first camera. She grew up sailing around the world with her family and has traveled extensively on her own since, creating in her an extensive visual knowledge (an eye) accumulated through years of exposure to a variety of cultures and thus visuals. Today, Santjie uses photography to express her own thoughts and to capture precious moments of life. Santjie eventually decided to settle in Cape Town, where she studied photography at Ruth Prows School of Art and Peninsula Technicon, now the University of Technology. Majoring in Art photography and specializing in black and white dark room printing techniques.
